About Jessica
I am a 2006 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Social Work and have over 10 years of experience working in the field of mental health in a variety of settings. I am proud to have completed a post-graduate clinical fellowship at the University of Michigan in the Department of Psychiatry where I worked with a wide range of adults, adolescents, and families, and received extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Couples and Family work, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
As an integrative psychotherapist, I believe that good psychotherapy begins with a positive therapeutic alliance between the client and therapist and a mutual motivation for change. I am especially interested in helping clients build self-awareness through mindfulness and coping skills to manage anxiety, depression, and challenging emotions.
Some of my areas of specialty include anxiety disorders, trauma, family of origin issues, spirituality, and difficulty coping in transitions. I believe that lasting and meaningful change comes from deepening understanding of our own unique personal stories and how they shape and influence our current struggles.
I work with and welcome individuals of all ages, races, religions, genders, and cultures.
